Program

Offering a range of practical and creative activities that combine research-based observation, active action and artistic expression. Specialist experts develop curricula and modules tailored specifically for this purpose.

Our first experiential education project has started in February 2025, and is ongoing. The project area covers Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar and surrounding areas.

The project area faces significant ecological, socio-cultural and educational challenges, in particular the lack of environmental awareness, which is reflected in the daily actions of the local population. The aim of the Academy of Environmental Awareness (AEL) is to create a deeper connection with nature through nature and landscape-based educational methods and to enable participants to actively engage in nature conservation. The target groups are children and adolescents aged 11 and above as well as teachers in the area.

The project offers a range of practical and creative activities that combine research-based observation, active action and artistic expression. Specialist experts develop curricula and modules specifically tailored to this purpose. The activities include environmental protection actions as well as creative learning methods such as art, writing and crafts. This allows participants to engage intensively and individually with the topic of environmental protection and sustainability and to apply their knowledge practically in their own projects.

Through this holistic approach, participants are not only trained theoretically, but also develop practical skills and creative potential. They learn how they can contribute both individually and collectively to a sustainable future. Therefore, the project encourages sustainable changes in the mindset and actions of the target group by

Strengthening environmental awareness and making participants active actors in environmental protection. In the long term, the project contributes to raising awareness of nature conservation and creating a deeper emotional connection with the environment that goes beyond individual commitments and also has a positive impact on the community and the project area.

This first project was realized through a collaboration between AEL and Phyllodrom.
